This past year I've run quite a number of children's workshops for the Dirty Old Gallery in Hastings Old Town. We devised a series of summer holiday sessions last year (funded by the Chalk Cliff Trust) based on puppet making. Since then I have led various sessions for the weekly art club (age 8-12), including papier mache characters, sliding mechanisms, jointed figures and mono printing.

I'm currently working on a series of drawings for Moving Mountains, a new book that brings together nature writing with people living with chronic illness and physical disability. Funded by Arts Council England.

My collage 'The Day my Queen Wore a Sponge Finger Crown' is still on show (though has sold) at the Dirty Old Gallery's 'Who's Your Queen' exhibition, until 26th June.

I'm working on a project about the 1921 Census run by Strike-a-Light and the Centre of Memory, Narratives and Histories (University of Brighton). At the open day I gave a talk about creative ways of researching local history projects, with reference to  Rediscovering West Street that I led in 2017-18. Once the participants have completed their own investigations I will be making a creative response to close the project. I am looking to incorporate their findings into a toy sized hand crafted puppet theatre.

I will be taking part in Coastal Currents open studios during the first two weekends in September, as part of a collective of West Street artists in Hastings Old Town. I'll be showing/ selling petting zoo rejects, critters and curios, handmade books, rosettes, hand puppets and finger puppets.

I'm still developing my Hedgerow Puppet Show ideas... Part costume, part performance, puppets in pockets, unexpected rural locations... Some examples of recent puppets, critters and curios plus other recent work below.
